Meeting Agenda
March 20, 2003 (Minneapolis, MN)
March 20
| 8:30 | Continental Breakfast |
| 9 | A National Perspective - What's going on with I-2, Light Rail, US Waves. We will ask a representative from each group to talk to us for about 15 minutes, leaving time for questions. |
| 10 | The Federal Perspective - What our friends at NSF (and other federal agencies) are thinking about in terms of the research network infrastructure and the higher education initiatives. |
| 10:45 | Break |
| 11 | The Campus Perspective - How each campus - and their state networks are working to accommodate the changing network world and increasing research demands |
| 12:15 | Lunch |
| 1:15 | Brainstorming - What could be -- an opportunity to ask each other questions and for the vendors to ask us questions. |
| 2 | Next Steps - Do the "northern tier" universities want to do anything more as a group in this area? If yes, what? |
| 2:30 | Adjourn |
This agenda implies that one person from each group (non-vendor) is
ready to talk to the entire group. While we don't need to know
who the speakers will be ahead of time, we do need to know that you will
have someone ready to talk to us (includes universities). I think
it would also be useful if our vendors had a one page handout telling
us what kind of capabilities they have in place in the Northern Tier
- Madison, Minneapolis and westward.
Organizers:
Annie Stunden, CIO, UW - Madison
Bonnie Neas, Asst. VP - Federal Government Relations & Director of Internet Research, ND State University
